Doruk Automation’s ‘Factories of the Future’ Exhibited at WIN EURASIA 2018 Draw Future Engineers’ Attention
Doruk Automation and Software Inc. has participated in the WIN EURASIA 2018 fair held at the TUYAP Fair and Convention Center between March 15 and 18 via both opening a stand that it presented its technological innovations that are often mentioned within the Industry 4.0 concept, as well as its ProMANAGE Manufacturing Operations Management System, and hosting a panel, in which leading ProMANAGE users in their sectors shared their experiences and achievements regarding Digital Production Management, in addition to giving their advice on the issue.
Science, Industry and Technology Minister visits Doruk Automation’s stand
Turkish Science, Industry and Technology Minister Faruk Özlü was among the visitors of the fair that was organized with the participation of over 1,800 companies from 22 countries. The minister visited the fair on March 16 and honored Doruk Automation by granting the company’s stand a visit. Özlü received information on Doruk Automation’s R&D, product, services and works aimed at Digital Production Management.
Aylin Özden, Doruk Automation’s Board Member Responsible for International Growth, informed the minister on the company’s journey of digitalizing industry firms that has been ongoing since 1998, while also stressing that Doruk Automation’s products and services consist of advanced technology products that are being fully developed by local engineering power in line with international standards.
IoT technology, Augmented Reality, big data, artificial intelligence, machine learning and data analytics solutions within the scope of Industry 4.0 of the Turkish company, which has 20 years of experience on digitalization in product management, were among the topics that Özden informed the minister about.
Moreover, Özden gave a detailed briefing to the minister on Doruk Automation’s R&D competencies and its history in that field, its products and solutions, current users, as well as its structuring and supports aimed at an easy application of the developed technology in SMEs.
While emphasizing that prestigious companies that are well-known to be among world giants and Industry 4.0 leaders digitalized the management of their factories with Doruk Automation’s solutions, Özden gave Bosch/Siemens, Schneider, ABB and Arçelik as examples.
Saying that the company received subsidies from Teknopark and the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK), Özden added that the products and services being developed are home-grown products that are fully supported by local resources.
In addition, Özden said that Doruk Automation products are being used by international technology institutions and have won wide-spread recognition.
Özden: We’ll make Turkey’s name be heard
During the minister’s visit, Özden stressed that Doruk Automation will support Turkish industrialists, mainly SMEs, and vowed that the company will make Turkey’s name be heard in the international arena in this field.
The minister, in return, congratulated Doruk Automation for its works, wished it a continued success and took a card that had information about the company written on before leaving the stand.
Throughout the course of the four-day-long WIN EURASIA fair, Doruk Automation successfully presented plenty of its innovations and developments, while also introducing the visitors to the upgrades made on ProMANAGE, the Smart Counter IIoT device that features wireless communication, ProMANAGE’s Web Based version, ProMANAGE’s mobile application and Augmented Reality applications on active production lines accompanied by live data.
Doruk Automation’s innovative Wi-Fi solutions that it contributed to the world of Digital Production Management, the latest version of ProMANAGE’s mobile application, ProMANAGE Cloud and Smart Counter were met with visitors’ great interest in all four days of the fair.
The visitors were also provided with the opportunity to examine the Augmented Reality glass and its applications, in addition to learning their principles and make explorations regarding their future.
Furthermore, those who visited Doruk Automation’s stand obtained the chance to get to know the company’s innovative Wi-Fi solutions that it contributed to the world of IoT, alongside its newest design, Smart Counter, which didn’t settle with only joining the world of IoT, but also started to be used in the industry.
Smart Counter was highly praised by the visitors for its ability to transform even the most conventional machines and equipment to IoT ones and the fact that it provides businesses with their most basic needs in the most cost effective way possible during their transformations to smart factories via providing support in transforming the machines and equipment by all means.
Likewise, the visitors were able to examine ProMANAGE’s web-based application in detail and meet ProMANAGE Cloud. They received extensive information on remotely monitoring the status of an enterprise using ProMANAGE’s mobile application and on examining ProMANAGE’s warning messages regarding the system.
Additionally, a functioning sample of the ProMANAGE Manufacturing Operations Management Platform that encompasses IoT, Big Data, Data Analytics, Augmented Reality and System Integration issues was exhibited with active prototype production machines. This way, the visitors were provided with the opportunity to examine all aspects of a production enterprise that is smartly managed.
Moreover, Doruk Automation’s stand was also met with great interest from future engineers. While the new generation showed deep interest in the factories of the future, children and the youth not only had fun and but also familiarized with one of the most popular elements of the world of technology by trying on the Augmented Reality glass.
Speakers share suggestions on starting digital transformation during Doruk Automation’s panel
On the second day of the fair, meanwhile, Doruk Automation successfully organized the Industry 4.0 & Digital Factory Panel within the scope of the Digital Factory & IIoT Forum Program. High level of participation was observed in the panel that was held on March 16.
During the panel, prominent representatives of industry firms that have been managing their productions with ProMANAGE shared their experiences and gains regarding digitally managing their production operations in their sectors, while also suggesting roadmaps and ways to start to the audience.
Abdi İbrahim Medicine Operational Excellence & Projects Manager Kemal Kıyak, Hayat Chemistry Energy Automation Manager Yakup Karataş, Arçelik TV Production Department Team Leader Hakan Altınışık and the company’s Automation Department Team Leader Nevzat Filiz shared their new implementations and the benefits and gains they acquired via the digital transformation that they went through using ProMANAGE, with the industry companies that are planning a digital transformation in production, as well as making suggestions to the aforementioned firms.
Speaking at the panel, Kıyak talked about Abdi İbrahim’s gains that the company obtained thanks to ProMANAGE and said that the enterprise’s operations and production status became more transparent with ProMANAGE that was setup eight years ago. He also noted that the ability to rapidly adapt to the momentarily developing situations with the help of digital tools increased the productivity of the production operations in significant amounts.
During his speech, Kıyak said that ProMANAGE provides them with the opportunity to make evaluations through rapidly analyzing data from the past three to five years when necessary, adding that this situation ensures major advantages in planning the future. According to Kıyak, this process also contains a cultural change.
While giving valuable advice to the companies who are just beginning their digitalization journey, Kıyak noted that the condition that has the utmost priority for the aforementioned firms is to start by digitally managing all their production operations. A journey that begins in such a way would definitely ensure a more productive use of the technologic machinery and equipment that will be purchased, he added.
In addition, Kıyak informed the audience on Abdi İbrahim’s digitalization journey that started before the launch of Industry 4.0, as well as the firm’s leading role in digitalization in Turkish industry and its future expectations.
Another speaker at the panel was Karataş, who said that they’ve been managing their productions digitally with ProMANAGE for the past eight years, while also touching upon the increase in speed, quality and productivity that was obtained in the enterprise together with the gains made thanks to the cultural change issues.
Touching upon the gains obtained by the detailed management of production operations, Karataş said that as Hayat Chemistry, they are among the firsts in Turkey with their product backward traceability structure that is made up with the processing of big data, which is formed with the constant collecting and saving of more than 1,000 parameters and is one of the most significant aspects of Industry 4.0. He further shared the company’s gains with the audience.
Saying that they have a more detailed system on the issue of GMP certification than the majority of the pharmaceutical companies thanks to the digital structure they have, Karataş told the audience that giving digitally managing production operations priority at the start of the journey of digitalization would set up a substructure by ensuring cultural changes. He also said that this would lay the ground for all the investments that they will make after that point, while sharing his experiences, views and suggestions on this subject.
Likewise, Altınışık and Filiz underlined that ProMANAGE is being used in all plants of Arçelik since 2006 and informed the audience on their substructure about digital managing of production operations in their enterprises using ProMANAGE. They further shared information on Arçelik’s Workshop 4.0 and Arçelik’s new plans and preparations in its digitalization journey.
