KeyPDT Exchange Campaign
KeyPDTs were designed to track production movements free of problems via transforming them into digital signals under all kinds of factory conditions and in a wide-range of machines and to establish an interface between the operator and the central system.
With its patent obtained in 2005, it was registered as a new product within its field in the world.
More than 20,000 KeyPDTs are being used in manufacturing factories under various heavy industry conditions for many years.
The fact that these KeyPDT devices function without creating any problems for many years lead to the factories not changing these devices also for many years. To honor Doruk Automation’s 20th foundation anniversary, a decision to organize a campaign for these devices to be changed with new generation ones was adopted.
In order for factories to keep pace with developing technology and for taking initiative in making them use visual management tools, which is a significant step on the road to digital transformation, new generation data collecting devices, as well as the touch-operated Industrial Panel PCs as operator interfaces are offered within the scope of the campaign.

Changing Old KeyPDT with New KeyPDT
Since the old KeyPDT devices that are being used for many years are highly durable, factories don’t feel the need to change them.
The visibility of the screens on the old KeyPDT devices that are being used for many years decreased and its screen lights fell insufficient in time. In the new KeyPDT devices, a brighter lit white LED screen became significantly more comfortable to read. In addition, after a certain period of time, keypads in the devices that are being used for many years may give operators hard time during data input. Since the keypads on our new devices are more durable, these problems would be eliminated.
Factories that are already using KeyPDTs will be able to use the new devices for long years to come without experiencing any problems after changing their old KeyPDTs with the new ones.
In order to support operators on easy data input and visual management when changing these devices within the scope of the device exchange campaign, Touch-operated Industrial Panel PCs are also offered. In this case, factories will be able to automatically gather their production data through these new generation KeyPDTs and use the visual Industrial PC screens as operator interfaces. At the same time, Industrial PCs will remove the need to an Android OSD device and the display connected to it.
Because the Industrial PC screens can be used with KeyPDTs, the current signal collecting method doesn’t change and the Industrial PC screens are easily incorporated into the system.
Changing KeyPDT with Smart Counter
IoT-based Smart Counter devices were developed to meet the needs of factories. Smart Counter devices can communicate over Wi-Fi or Ethernet. Features of Smart Counters are as follows:
- 4 Digital Inputs
- 2 Digital Outputs
- Ethernet
- Wi-Fi
- USB
KeyPDTs are durable and robust devices. Due to their endurance, they are especially preferred in places such as foundries and welding departments. KeyPDT devices communicate through RS485 cabling. However, factories with manufacturing areas that suit Wi-Fi substructure are aiming to remove these RS485 cables completely from their factories and carry out this communication through Wi-Fi instead.
Old devices of the factories that prefer collecting their manufacturing data over Smart Counter are taken as part of this exchange campaign and new generation Smart Counter devices and Touch-operated Industrial Panel PCs as operator interfaces are offered.
Changing KeyPDT with OPC-featured data gathering
In the factories that collect their manufacturing data over their old KeyPDT devices, but whose machines’ PLC substructure fits OPC Server criteria, these data can be collected over the OPC Server. In this case, the aforementioned data gathering process can be carried out without the need to mount any device on the machinery.
In the event that factories’ data collecting method fits the OPC Server and that they prefer it, the substructure necessary to be able to collect process data, such as heat, pressure and etc., would be established.
Old devices of the factories that prefer collecting their manufacturing data over OPC are taken as part of this exchange campaign and ProMANAGE machine-based OPC license and Touch-operated Industrial Panel PCs as operator interfaces are offered.
